Yogurt and knot-shaped bread might grow dearer
The yogurts, knot-shaped bread and other types of bakery products that contain additives were removed from the list of socially important goods the profit margin for which is maximum 20%, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting relevant amendments approved by the Government.
Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said the modification was made at the suggestion of company representatives who submitted different proposals during the debates organized by the Ministry of Economy.
“The state cannot intervene with so strict regulations in the work of companies in a market economy. The interests of the the producers must also be taken into account. Moreover, the list of socially important goods includes a wide variety of dairy and bakery products that are good for health,” Calmac said.
As regards the inclusion of live animals in the list, the deputy minister said the given proposal will be examined at a joint meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Customs Service and other competent bodies the next days.
The Government reviewed the list of socially important goods in April. The detergents, footwear for children and building materials, except the cement, were then struck off the list, while the meat and fish products, juices for children and citrus fruit were included in the list. But the Government Decision was not published as the authorities wanted to consult the businesses first.
The list now contains 28 names of products, including meat and meat products, fish, bread, flour, vegetal oil, cement, notebooks for children, fresh citrus fruit etc.
