A yellow weather warning has been issued for abrupt weather changes from thursday to saturday. Meteorologists announced the alert due to the movement of atmospheric fronts associated with an Atlantic cyclone, IPN reports, citing the forecast from the State Hydrometeorological Service.
During the latter half of the week, precipitation is expected, locally heavy at times. Initially starting as rain, it will gradually turn into sleet and snow, particularly in the northern and central regions of the country. Winds will be strong, reaching speeds of up to 18 meters per second.
Residents are advised to avoid travel, especially over long distances, as icy conditions and slippery roads are expected.
Additionally, a sharp drop in temperatures will begin on thursday, with air temperatures decreasing by 5 - 7 degrees Celsius.
A yellow warning indicates potentially hazardous weather conditions, which may pose risks to social and economic activities.
