Year starts with price rises for Transnistrians

The people living on the left side of the Nistru pay by 3 rubles (3.40 lei) for a trip by minibus from January 1, up from 2.80 rubles, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the news portal “Novyi Region”, the authorities argued that the drivers were often unable to give change to passengers. The price of a trip by trolleybus went up to 2 rubles (2.27 lei), while the tickets for the route that connects Tiraspol and Bender cost 2.50 rubles (2.84 lei). As regards the payments for maintenance, there were introduced consumption limits: 8 cubic meters of gas and 150 kWh of power. Those who will respect these limits will pay 0.82 rubles (0.93 lei) per cubic meter of gas, and 0.52 rubles (0.59 lei) per kWh, as until now. For every extra cubic meter of gas consumed, the end-users will pay 1 ruble (1,13 lei), while for 1 kWh of power – 0.56 rubles (0.63 lei). A common tariff of 3.7 rubles (4.20 lei) was set on water supply and of 3.48 rubles (3.95 lei) on sewerage services. Thus, the water for the residents of Tiraspol will be more expensive, while for those of Camenca and Slobozia will grow cheaper. The difference between the water charges until now was of two or even three times.
