The inauguration of the Year of Stephan the Great and Holy will take place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau on February 2. According to President Igor Dodon, who signed a presidential decree to this effect, the event forms part of the series of activities designed to keep and strengthen statehood, IPN reports.

In the same connection, President Dodon mentioned the drafting of a bill to institute the historical flag of the Republic of Moldova, work on the textbook “History of Moldova” and launch of two parts of a documentary with the same title. The third part will be presented next February, while next March there will be staged a day of watching this film.

In the event held to mark one year in office of President, Igor Dodon said a bill was also drafted to ban parties that openly plead for the liquidation of the Republic of Moldova, but this will be proposed when the time is opportune.
