The Government approved a draft Parliament decision by which 2017 is declared the Year of Nicolae Testemitanu on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the scientist’s birth, IPN reports.

In 1963-1968, Nicolae Testemitanu held the post of Minister of Health. Among his accomplishments are the consolidation of the technological basis of health facilities and the implementation of the most modern forms and methods of work. He also worked out the rural medical assistance conception.

After Parliament adopts the decision, the Government will propose a broad plan of measures for commemorating the scientist.
