The Chisinau City Hall project of apartment block's yards renovation has reached the Botanica district. District head Vladimir Guritenco declared on Saturday, after the renovation of a yard on Traian Avenue, 23/2, that it was one of the largest in the district with around 1500 residents, Info-Prim Neo reports. Parking lots for 100 cars have been built, with special pavement that has holes for the grass to grow. The old street lights were replaced with new ones with a sensor system. The road was paved and the block's facades were refurbished. Where needed, the lifts were repaired as well. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca attended the event. He said that the City Hall came up with this project of complex refurbishing of yards to offer more comfort to people. “We try to satisfy both those who want more green spaces and those who want more comfort for the goods they own. Parents want playgrounds for their children and, considering the space we have, we decided to design the yards this way and satisfy everyone”, he explained. Uliana Rotari, who lives in this block, said that everything looked better, the children had where to play and there was even space for parking. “It's really good. Not only outside, but inside as well: the stairs are illuminated and the elevators repaired”, added another resident, Ion Arnaut. He says that everything is clean and ordered and it was up to the people to maintain it like that. The first yard renovated within the program, launched in summer, was on Alba Iulia, 202, Buiucani district, at the end of September 2011.
