The rain with hail and high winds of July 26 caused havoc in a number of settlements. According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, crops and house roofs were damaged in Cotul Morii, Sarateni, Leuseni and Ivancea villages of Hancesti district, IPN reports.

In Cotul Morii, the strong winds destroyed the roofs of 25 houses. Rescuers were called to pump water out of yards and to unblock local roads.

Damage was also reported in Pocrovca, Teleseuca and Criscauti villages of Donduseni district. In Taul village, the wind displaced tiles from the roof of a granary on an area of 175 square meters.

The local emergencies commissions are examining the situation to determine the damage caused.
