The Writers Union calls upon the Moldovan people to take part in the pro-Moldova public assembly that will be mounted in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on November 3, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Union’s Board.
“The consolidation of civil society is of vital importance. The Moldovan people must show that they are faithful supporters of the European values and that they are ready to subscribe to them so as to live in a free, democratic and prosperous state,” it is said in the communiqué. The writers welcome the fact that the political parties joined efforts to promote the European integration, which now depends directly on the initialing of the agreements with the EU. “The pro-European government needs the firm support of most of the voters now more than ever. We call on the voters to put the national interest above the political views and disagreements.”
The Writers Union urges the people of art, intellectuals, teachers, researchers, professors and students to defend the democracy and the national objective of European integration and to support the appeal for the pro-European forces of Moldova to unite.
On November 3, the parties of the government coalition will stage a pro-European demonstration in central Chisinau in order to inform the people about Moldova’s European course and to allow them to state their viewpoints on it.
