Wrestler Irina Rîngaci qualifies for Paris Olympics

Moldovan athlete Irina Rîngaci won a bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade and qualified for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. In the small final of the 68kg weight class, she beat Japan’s Ami Ishii, IPN reports.

On the first day of the competition, Irina Rîngaci was defeated by the future finalist Buse Tosun of Turkey. In the playoffs, she won against Alejandra Arriaga of Mexico and Adela Hanzlickova of the Czech Republic.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Mihail Bradu (82 kg) will contend in the small final, while Artiom Deleanu (55 kg) and Alexandrin Guțu (77 kg) will compete in the playoffs.
