Greco-Roman wrestler Alexandrin Guțu won a bronze medal at the Individual World Cup in Belgrade. In the small final of the 77 kg weight class, the 17-year-old athlete defeated Ukraine’s Yasaf Zeinalov 6-4, IPN reports.
Alexandrin, who is from Ștefan Vodă, started with a defeat. He lost to the future finalist Zoltan Levai of Hungary. In the playoffs, Guțu beat Slovakia’s Denis Horbath 13-3, while in the match for bronze won against Ukraine’s Yasaf Zeinalov.
In the small final, Artiom Deleanu (55 kg) and Valentin Petic (72 kg) lost to Algeria’s Abdelkarim Fergat and Turkey’s Cengiz Arslan, respectively. The small final today will involve Mihail Bradu (82 kg), while Victor Ciobanu (60 kg) will compete in playoffs.
