A projectile and a hand grenade have been discovered and neutralized by National Army engineers, who carried out two demining missions on Wednesday, IPN reports.
A type F1 hand grenade was discovered in the locality of Onițcani, Criuleni district, while the owners of a household were carrying out construction work. Specialists were called to the scene.
Another team of military engineers was called to the locality of Florițoaia Veche, Ungheni district, where military engineers found a 75 mm caliber artillery projectile in an agricultural field.
The ammunition found on Wednesday dates back to the Second World War and was neutralized under maximum security conditions in a specially arranged place.
National Army engineers are urging people to be cautious when detecting explosive objects and to notify specialists on the emergency number 112.
