World Romanian Council offers stationery, satchels to children in flooded Criva
35 children from families having to suffer from the floods in Criva, Briceni district, will get school stationery and satchels worth $1,300. The money has been collected by the Los Angeles-based World Romanian Council in a drive called “Solidary with the flood-hit from Basarabia”, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The World Romanian Council has never been indifferent at what is happening in Basarabia. We first thought of children,” Mariana Iuga, a representative of the Council in this mission told journalists on Monday.
“It's less than a month till the new scholar year begins, and children from the flood-stricken village remained without stationery, clothes and footwear. It is very difficult fore them to study, under these circumstances, that is why we think our gesture to be useful,” Mariana Iuga has said.
42 children have been affected by the recent floods in Criva families, as 35 of them go to school.
In addition, the parents of those 35 children have got by 100 lei.
The World Romanian Council goes on helping the flood stricken people from Moldova.
