The third edition of the Italian Cuisine Week is in full swing in Chisinau. On this occasion, a delicious culinary show devoted to the Italian cuisine’s star – pizza - was staged in a shopping center in Chisinau on November 24. The event ended with a masterclass given by triple winner of the World Pizza Championship Gianni Di Lella and all those attending could taste pizza, IPN reports.
The event was organized by Casa Rinaldi and the Embassy of Italy in Moldova. Ambassador Valeria Biagiotti said that a number of events were held in the course of this week in Chisinau with the aim of promoting the Italian cuisine, which is popular all over the world. The Italian cuisine is special because it combines creativity and excellence.
The event involved representatives of other embassies working in Chisinau, who took part in a pizza making contest. Poland’s Ambassador Bartlomiej Zdaniuk said the great European culture has a number of dimensions and the cuisine is one of them. “It is a part of the relations between us and we should cultivate this tie,” stated the ambassador.
Gianni Di Lella prepared a piazza for the visitors, improvising with different ingredients. The Italian chef said that to make a delicious piazza one needs a lot of love and patience and also sufficient time to make the dough and leave it grow. Gianni Di Lella started to cook in 2010 and needed a year to learn to make a balanced and tasty product.
The third edition of the Italian Cuisine Week is held in Moldova during November 19-25. This includes training activities for promoting a long-term relationship between students of the culinary faculties and Italian and local chefs. At the same time, the Chefs Federation, together with a group of entrepreneurs from Sicilia, in cooperation with the International Women’s Club, staged a Cooking Show with tasting of Sicilian products at the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy. Throughout this week, the Italian restaurants have offered special menus with Pasta with Pesto, a Genovese specialty, as part of the Pasta Pesto Day initiative (www.pastapestoday.it), where a part of the profits will be donated to the Genua City Hall for supporting the victims of the Morandi Bridge collapse of August 14.
