World leaders condemn Russia’s attack on Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the world leaders to form an “anti-Putin coalition”, IPN reports.

In a video posted on Facebook, Volodymyr Zelensky says that he discussed with U.S. President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of Poland Andrzej Duda, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda and other leaders and called for an immediate stop to Putin. “We are building an anti-Putin coalition,” said the President, noting he called on the world leaders to impose all possible sanctions on Vladimir Putin and save Ukraine and the entire democratic world.

The Hill reported that President Biden will unveil additional sanctions Thursday in coordination with European allies in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine. Biden condemned the “unprovoked and unjustified attack” by Russian forces in a statement on Wednesday night.

The President of France Francois Macron wrote on Twitter that his country strongly condemns Russia’s decision to wage a war on Ukraine. “Russia must immediately put an end to its military operations”.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine was condemned by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. “NATO Allies will meet to address the consequences of Russia’s aggressive actions. We stand with the people of Ukraine at this terrible time. NATO will do all it takes to protect and defend all Allies.”

Russia’s actions against Ukraine were also condemned by OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbignev Rau and OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Shmid.
