World Bank welcomes new Moldovan government's change of attitude towards private sector
The World Bank praises the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology for its efforts aimed at facilitating the national operators' access to crossborder traffic, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry's press service.
In a meeting, Minister of Information and Communication Technology Alexandru Oleinic, WB representative Siddhartna Raja, telecommunications consultant, and program coordinator at the ICT department Oleg Petrov discussed the administrative procedures for launching crossborder networks, the plans to develop the e-government in Moldova and opportunities of cooperation in improving governance.
Alexandru Oleinic spoke about the measures taken by the government to eliminate the obstacles to building and putting crossborder communications networks into operation. He said the operators that are technically ready to get involved in crossborder traffic will enjoy the public authorities' support in obtaining the necessary authorizations.
Siddhartna Raja welcomed the new Moldovan government's change of attitude towards the private sector, the elimination of bureaucratic barriers and simplification of the procedures for putting crossborder communications networks into operation. “We approve of the steps aimed at developing the ICT sector taken by the Ministry and are glad that we have a reliable partner together with which we can implement important development projects in Moldova,” the WB official said.
The interlocutors also discussed details concerning the join formulation of a broad project to develop the ICT sector and e-government and improve the quality of the services provided for the population.
