The World Bank plans to implement technical assistance projects in a number of areas in the Transnistrian region. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan on August 2 had a meeting with World Bank experts led by the Country Manager for Moldova Alex Kremer, IPN reports.
According to the Reintegration Office, the technical assistance projects refer to the assessment of the local road network and environmental problems, pollution control, quality risk management, etc. It is planned to support agro- and/or eco-tourism programs, vocational and entrepreneurial training for young people with a low level of education.
The Reintegration Office considers that such projects will contribute to strengthening confidence between the residents from both sides of the Nistru, rehabilitating the local infrastructure, developing local communities and promoting regional partnership programs.
