The Republic of Moldova and the World Bank signed a financing agreement for implementing the Local Roads Improvement Project in Moldova, IPN reports.
The goal of the project is to ensure the accessibility of education institutions and health facilities by safe and sustainable road infrastructure. The selected local roads are about 300 km in length. The term of the agreement is 15 years. Based on the financing agreement, the World Bank will offer Moldova a loan of about US$80 000 000.
The Local Roads Improvement Project was launched with the aim of continuing the implementation of the Road Sector Program Support Project and will be carried out under the supervision and general responsibility of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure. The project well be implemented through the agency of the state-owned company “Administratia de Stat a Drumurilor” (“State Road Administration”).
