World Bank not sure that Moldovan government can make roads
The World Bank (WB) announces that it has been impelled to cancel $11 million from the loan of the International Development Association (IDA) of $16 million, granted for the Moldovan Government’s Program to build roads, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The WB very seriously treats transparency, competitiveness and equity in the procurement process. The procurement rules of the WB, compulsory for all the contracts financed by the WB,” reds a communiqué by the WB.
The road project was approved by the WB board in March, 2007. The IDA gave a loan of $16 million to assist the government in building roads.
The loan offered by the WB envisages financing other activities in the road building process.
