A World Bank Mission was in Chisinau on 13-21 February to evaluate the activity of the project of Ministry oh Health and Social Protection „Health Investment Fund” in its final stage and to identify the resources of the new project, which will be launched in 2007 as continuation of the project „Health Investment Fund”.
According to report of the Ministry of Health and Social protection, the project manager of the World Bank, Maris Jesse, said during the meeting with the leadership of the ministry that the new project will include activities of the health area, as well as of the social protection.
World Bank Mission had many meetings with the leaderships of the Ministry of Health and Social protection, National Company for Medicine Insurances, Coordinating Unit Teamre, Implementation and Monitoring Project „Health Investment Fund”, with the representative of the local office of World Health Organisation in Moldova, UNICEF Moldova, United Nations Development Program (PNUD) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
World Bank experts visited the Health Centres of Ermoclia and Talmaza of Stefan-Voda and Cruglic, Criuleni, which were renovated Health Investment Fund”.
The main aim of the Project of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection „Health Investment Fund” is to consolidate the primary medical assistance and modernise the emergency services, to improve population’s health, to increase the quality and efficiency of the public health sector by increasing population’s access to basic medical services.
He was implemented in 17 May 2001, right after the ratification by the parliament of the credit agreement of World Bank and it ends on 30 August 2006.
