World Bank contributes to Moldova’s European course, WB country director

The projects implemented with the support of the World Bank contribute to the implementation of the reforms needed in the European integration process in Moldova, WB Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Qimiao Fan said in a meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports.

Qimiao Fan referred to the strategy of partnership between Moldova and the World Bank within which US$570 million will be allocated over the next four years for supporting the reforms in education and healthcare, for improving the investment climate, for increasing economic competitiveness and enhancing the financial sector.

One of the most important infrastructure modernization projects that will receive financial support from the World Bank is the project to restructure the public heat utility Termocom, said Qimiao Fan.

Nicolae Timofti expressed his confidence that the projects implemented in partnership with the World Bank will enable to increase the people’s living standards.
