The works to rehabilitated the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” in central Chisinau have started. The first stage includes the installation of the irrigation and video surveillance systems. The public lighting system and the fountains will be renovated, IPN reports.

The total value of the project is €14 million lei. Half of the sum will be covered with the donation made by the Buzau County Council based on a cooperation agreement between the Chisinau City Hall and the Buzau County Council, it is said in a press release.

The square of the Cathedral has the status of architectural monument that was included added to the National Register of Monuments.
