As of January 1, 2019, the pensioners who worked or continue to work after retirement will be able to ask for the reexamination of the old-age pension. An application to this effect could be submitted only once on condition that the pension that is to be reexamined is larger than the paid pension. This is provided in a bill that was passed by Parliament in the first reading, IPN reports.
The old-age pensions set before January 1, 2019 will be reexamined in stages, based on the insurance period accumulated after retirement. Thus, the pensions set before January 1, 1999 with an insurance period after retirement of at least 15 years will be reexamined as of January 1, 2019.
The pensions set before January 1, 1999 with an insurance period after retirement of up to 15 years will be reexamined as of January 1, 2020, while the pensions set after January 1, 1999 with an insurance period of at least 15 years will be reexamined as of January 1, 2021.
During the next few years, the required insurance period after retirement will rise by three years annually.
The bill is to be adopted in the final reading.
