Working group created to suggest solutions to Transnistrian dispute

Parliament set up a working group for drafting a decision with measures that must be taken to normalize the situation in the Transnistrian region. The decision was taken in the June 28 sitting of the legislature following the adoption of a statement on the situation in Transnistria last week, IPN reports.

The working group will have nine members. The Communist parliamentary group fielded Vasili Sova, Sergiu Stati, Oxana Domenti, and Irina Vlah. The Liberal-Democratic faction put forward Iurie Apostolachi, Valeriu Ghiletski, and Elena Frumosu. The Democrats will be represented by Stella Jantuan, while the Liberal reformers by Vadim Vacarciuc.

The Liberals headed by Mihai Ghimpu inquired about the goals of the decision that is to be adopted, but received no answer. The legislative body didn’t set a deadline by which the group must submit proposals.
