A worker aged 28 was taken to the hospital in a serious condition after he fell from the top of a utility pole, from a height of about six meters, IPN reports, quoting the Emergency Medicine Institute.
The man was executing works on the top of the pole when a truck going by hooked a cable and dragged it after it together with the pole. Consequently, the worker suffered severe polytrauma in association with brain injury and a concussion, fracture of the mandible and left forearm and, probably, a skull fracture.
In another serious work accident last week, a 63-year-old man died, while another one of 29 was hospitalized. The workers were installing a large poster near the National Opera House when they lost balance and fell from a height of about eight meters. The man who survived suffered brain injury, a concussion and fractures.
