One person died at a construction site in Durlești after falling from height. Both the police and the Agency for Technical Supervision, an institution that investigates work accidents, examine the circumstances of the accident.
Natalia Stati, press officer for the capital's police, told IPN that on August 6, around 15.47, the Buiucani Police Inspectorate was alerted to the tragedy. "Buiucani police officers and an ambulance arrived at the scene, but could do nothing to save the man's life", said Natalia Stati.
The law enforcement officers established that the work accident victim is from Drochia and is 34 years old. "According to witness accounts, the man fell from the 7th storey of the block. The collected evidence will be transmitted to the prosecutor's office”, said Natalia Stati.
Additionally, an investigation into work safety was opened by the Agency for Technical Safety. Natalia Onici, deputy head of the Occupational Safety Directorate of ATS, said that the institution was informed of the accident on August 6, at 4.44 pm.
"In accordance with the work accidents investigation regulation, approved by the Government Decision 1361 of 22.12.2019, the provision regarding work accident investigation was immediately triggered. On 06.08.2019, the occupational safety inspector was dispatched to the scene”, stated Natalia Onici.
She added that the accident investigation was resumed the next day and that relevant circumstances that caused the workplace accident are being identified on the scene of the tragedy.
