A 25-year-old man died after falling from the roof of a Chisinau apartment building as he was working on the construction of a mansard. Riscani district police chief Valentin Cucos told Info-Prim Neo that the man named Serghei Puroi slipped from the roof of the five-storied building and sustained severe injuries. “Criminal proceedings have been started against the supervisor of the construction for failure to ensure safety rules in the workplace”, said Valentin Cucos. Emergency Hospital spokesman Petru Cravet confirmed that the man was admitted to the intensive care unit with multiple injuries which included an open head trauma. “The injuries proved to be too complicated and the patient died during surgery”. The labor accident, the second for the day, occurred on Dumitru Riscanu Street at around 3:30 PM.
