The Wonderworking Icon of the Mother of God Paramythía (Consolation) of the Monastery of Vatopedi situated on Mount Athos in Greece will be brought to the Monastery “Great Saint Martyr Teodor Tiron, Ciuflea” in Chisinau on June 11, IPN reports.

According to the Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and all Moldova, those who want to kneel before this icon are expected at the gate of the Ciuflea Monastery at 8:30am to meet it. A te-deum will be held later, followed by the Holy Liturgy.

The Wonderworking Icon of the Mother of God is a fresco of the 14th century that was placed in the external wall of the Vatopedi Monastery. After the wonder of January 21, 1320, when it saved the community and the monastery from death, the icon was moved to the left of the Catholicon, in a chapel devoted to the Mother of God.
