Women’s U-17 squad fail to qualify

The national women’s Under-17 team failed to go through to the European Football Championship second qualifying round. In the last match of the group, the squad trained by Igor Shpaniora lost to the Faroe Islands 0-1, Info-Prim Neo reports. The only goal was scored at the begging of the game by Jacobsen. All hosts’ attempts to improve the situation were thwarted by the defense or the goalkeeper of the opponents. “I’m disappointed. We were close to taking the second position and earning qualification. We needed at least a draw in the last match,” said the manager of Moldova’s squad. In the current qualifying round, the Under-17 team scored the first victory in an official match, beating Wales 1-0. Earlier, Moldova suffered only defeats.
