One of the largest women’s service voluntary organizations Inner Wheel is to be launched in Chisinau on February 27. The club members aim to implement projects to support children with special needs, elderly persons in need and other vulnerable categories.
The club’s founder-president Inga Albu has told IPN that such clubs as Inner Wheel Chisinau were launched in almost all the countries of the world. Asked why in Chisinau Inner Wheel is launched only now, Inga Albu said that they often promote only men in Moldova. By this club, the women will be able to help society and to show their altruism and respect for the mates.
The club’s secretary Elvira Leahu said that within Inner Wheel Chisinau, the members propose different projects to offer assistance to those around. These are projects to help children with special needs, poor persons, etc. The projects are voted by the club members and the project that gains most of the votes is implemented the first. To implement such a project, the club members will organize different campaigns, will sensitize the people to the addressed problems and will agree the methods by which the persons covered by the projects can be helped.
After the official opening of Inner Wheel Chisinau, there will be held a concert involving national singers. The proceeds will be given to the Resource Center for Children with Autism.
Now Inner Wheel Chisinau has 20 members from different areas of activity. IIW is active in over 103 countries, with 103000 members in 3,895 clubs.
