The body of a 32-year-old woman with obvious signs of homicidal violence was found yesterday evening in her car parked on a street in Chisinau’s Botanica district.

Chisinau Police spokesperson Natalia Stati told IPN the family of the woman, a mother of two, became concerned when she didn’t return home the previous night. It took almost a day to find her car parked a few blocks away from her home, with the dead woman on the back seat. There were signs of strangulation around her neck.

A postmortem examination is to establish the cause and time of death more accurately.

Stati said the polioce opened criminal proceedings on intentional murder charges, punishable by 15-20 years in prison or even life sentence.
