The 36-year-old woman who stabbed her two children before attempting suicide was discharged from hospital today, but was court ordered to spend at least 30 days in Prison no.13, IPN learned from Chisinau Police spokesperson Adrian Jovmir.

The children are now stable, but will remain under supervision until completely recovered.

Larisa Şpiţa, senior specialist at the Municipal Child Protection Division, told IPN the family hadn’t been under the Division’s monitoring and had never asked for help.

But after the incident, the entire family has been placed under monitoring. A decision about to do with the children after they leave hospital will be taken after the Botanica branch of the Division considers all the circumstances.
