A woman aged 58 got poisoned by fumes as a result of a fire that happened in an apartment building located on Independenței St in Chisinau. Another 18 persons, three of whom are minors, were evacuated, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the woman who got poisoned was the owner of the apartment where the fire started. She was rushed to Saint Trinity Hospital for being offered medical assistance.

It was preliminarily determined that the fire engulfed a fourth-floor one-room apartment that is 12 square meters in area. The firefighters initially took two gas cylinders out of the apartment, avoiding an explosion.

The exact cause and circumstances of the fire are yet to be found out.
