Woman student to stand trial for traffic of influence

A 38-year-old woman who studied at an evening school in Chisinau is accused of asking for and taking €300 for putting six persons on the list of candidates who were to take the Baccalaureate exams, assuring them they would definitely pass the exams. It happened in the spring of 2017. The case was recently sent to court, IPN has learned from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.

The prosecutors also completed the investigation based on another count where the woman is accused of asking for and taking €1,100 for influencing public figures who work in subdivisions of the Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Division. In exchange for this money, she was to help three persons to get a driver’s license of category “B”.

The woman admitted her guilt and cooperated with the investigation bodies. She faces a fine of 100,000 to 150,000 lei or at most five years in jail.
