A 23-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being struck by a railway locomotive in Chisinau’s Muncesti district.
The woman has suffered skull fractures and a broken collarbone. She is being treated in intensive care and her condition is said to be critical.
Eyewitnesses say the engine driver hooted a warning, but the woman apparently didn’t hear it. The place where she crossed the tracks is not controlled by traffic lights.
