Woman seriously hurt in road accident in Chisinau

A woman was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition after she was struck by a car on Ismail St in Chisinau. The accident happened at the intersection with Alexandru cel Bun St on Wednesday, August 24. Aurelia Mija, press officer of the Traffic Police Division, said the woman was crossing the street at the red traffic lights. The driver of an Audi tried to brake, but did not manage to avoid a collision. The victim is in her 60s. Spokesman for the Chisinau Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet said the woman suffered a concussion and was admitted to the reanimatology section. In another traffic accident that happened the same day, a 25-yera-old woman who was eight months pregnant sustained leg fractures and was being operated.
