A woman received serious injuries when she was hit by a large branch that fell from a tree on Braniste St in the capital city yesterday evening, Chisinau Ambulance Service coordinating doctor Anatol Proca has told Info-Prim Neo. According to Proca, the branch fell and covered the 61-year-old woman completely when she was passing by. The ambulance doctors established the woman suffered a kneecap fracture, traumatic shock and, possibly, a fracture of the backbone. A Chinese man aged 46 was discovered dead in a luxury hotel in central Chisinau. His roommate said he complained of chest pain, but refused to call an ambulance. He asked being left alone. In several hours, he was found dead. An inebriated man aged 25 was taken to the hospital with stab wounds from a kiosk located not far from Chuflea Cathedral. He told the doctors he stabbed himself while cutting a watermelon. The police are investigating the case. The Chisinau Ambulance Service during 24 hours dealt with 674 emergencies, including 45 cases of acute viral infection, 52 cases of trauma, six strokes and 30 deliveries.
