A female passenger who intended to fly from Chisinau to London wanted to leave the country with 90 packs of undeclared cigarettes. The cigarettes were found at the Chisinau International Airport following the baggage check, IPN reports.
The 30-year-old woman with dual citizenship, Moldovan and Romanian, intended to illegally take out of the country 90 packs of cigarettes with the excise stamp of the Republic of Moldova, said the Customs Service.
The cigarettes were seized and are subject to confiscation, while the person risks being penalized for contravention.
A person can leave the country with a maximum of 10 packs of cigarettes (200 pieces), without having to declare them.
