Woman killed in fire
A woman died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a house fire in Vadul lui Voda town. Her daughter was saved by firefighters.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the tragedy happened on Thursday morning. A woman noticed the smoke coming out of a window and called the firefighters. The owner of the house, a woman aged 62, could not be saved. He 22-year-old daughter was sleeping in a room with a separate exit and escaped.
The defective or overheated stove is being blamed for the fire.
The 177 fires that occurred in Moldova this year resulted in 39 deaths.
