A 34-year-old woman from Chisinau was sentenced to nine years in jail for swindle of considerable size and traffic of influence, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor General’s Office informed that the culprit, in 2007 – 2009, swindled 12 persons out of over 480,000 lei. She promised the victims she will obtain 16 Romanian and Russian passports for them in a short period of time. After taking the money, the woman disappeared.
She was also accused of asking and taking €1,450 from a student, in 2010, for influencing teachers to admit her to the university degree exams.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
