A 30-year-old woman was found guilty of attempted murder. The judgement was passed by the Straseni Court. The court sentenced her to 15 years in a closed prison intended for women.

According to the indictment, the defendant, being intoxicated at the home of her cohabitant in Straseni district in March 2023, stabbed him with a kitchen knife for two times. The woman stabbed her partner once in the back and once in the heart. The man managed to escape and left the house, asking for help.

According to the judicial expert report, the bodily injuries caused to the man were qualified as "serious".

The defendant partially admitted her guilt. The woman confessed that she did not intend to kill her partner and that there was a conflict between them out of jealousy, and the man sometimes used violence against her. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
