Woman from Stefan Voda dies from AH1N1

The flu virus caused the 13th victim. A woman aged 68 from Stefan Voda district died at the National Clinical Hospital.

Constantin Spinu, vice director of the National Public Health Center, has told IPN that the woman was admitted to the Stefan Voda District Hospital with bilateral pneumonia at the start of February. Blood samples were taken from her and the lab results showed she had the AH1N1 flu virus. She was thus transported to the National Hospital in Chisinau.

Constantin Spanu said the woman hadn’t been vaccinated against flu and suffered from diabetes and obesity, which worsened her state. She could not be saved.
