A woman aged 59 fell into a well that is 15 meters in depth in Chișcăreni village of Sângerei district in the evening of April 11. She was lucky to be heard by a passerby who called the Emergency Service 112.

The woman stayed in the cold water for almost 20 minutes, until the rescuers saved her. She suffered hypothermia and was taken to the hospital for medical care.

Vasile Molcoci, director of the Sângerei District Hospital where the woman was admitted, told IPN that the woman suffered leg and backbone fractures. Her state of health is serious, but stable.

The circumstances in which the woman got into the well are yet to be found out. The police will discuss with her when she overcomes the state of shock, stated Eugenia Molchanov, press officer of the Sângerei Police Inspectorate.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the rescuers pulled ten persons out of wells so far this year.
