Woman dies electrocuted, as another gets injured
A young woman died and another was injured as a result of electrocution. The incident occurred at the entrance of Budai village. The strong wind pulled out the insulator of a cable together with the suspension pegs from a wooden pillar. The girls were passing by and touched the electrical cable. One of them was electrocuted to death.
The victim Silvia Dubenco was transported from the scene by persons that came to lend a hand, but she could not be saved. Her mate Cristina Esanu got her hands injured and was rushed by the ambulance to the National Clinical Hospital for Children, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from Union Fenosa in Moldova. The company’s Communications Department warns the population to be precautious when passing near electric installations, especially during and after storms or strong winds that can damage the electrical equipment.
A woman from Tighina town on a visit to her relatives gave birth to a healthy girl on March 5. Doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service Anatol Proca has told Info-Prim Neo that this is the second child of the woman. After delivery, the two were admitted to the Mother and Child Center.
A 27 year-old man from Cricova town was rushed to the Emergency Hospital, his neck wounded with a knife. Though the injury was deep, arteries were not harmed. The young man did not want to say whether it was a suicide attempt or he was attacked. The police are investigating the case. A homeless in his 40s was found dead in a basement on Dacia Blvd on the same day. He bore no signs of violent death.
On March 5, the Emergency Service in Chisinau dealt with 755 appeals for help, including 58 cases of injury, 78 cases of acute viral diseases, 3 brain strokes and 57 cases of mumps.
