A woman aged 29 died in the hospital after she suffered serious burns caused by an unknown acid substance, which was allegedly sulfuric acid.
Contacted by IPN, head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Division Adrian Jovmir said the incident occurred in the afternoon of December 2. The young woman was attacked by an individual in front of the block were she lived. He splashed her with an acid substance when she was entering the elevator. The victim managed to get to her apartment and her mother called the police and an ambulance. Nothing could be yet done to save her. The woman died in the hospital last night.
The police started a criminal case over causing of serious bodily injuries that resulted in death.
