Woman breaks spinal column on building site

A 43 years old woman broke her spinal column on a building site in Dumbrava, Chisinau district, risking paralysis for the rest of her life. Coordinator-doctor of the Chisinau Emergency Service Eufalia Negreata told Info-Prim Neo that the woman was working on a private building site. She lost her balance and fell from a 3.5 m high scaffolding. A 70 years old pensioner, unable to move out of her bed for some years already, decided to kill herself and took an overdose of all the pills she found around her. The woman was found in a coma and was admitted to “Holy Trinity” hospital. The same hospital also admitted a 25 years old young man, intoxicated with drugs. A man aged 52 died of cardiac insufficiency. He experienced severe pains in the heart region during the whole day, but didn’t report himself to a doctor. He died during the nigh before the arrival of an emergency unit. Over the past day and night the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 677 calls, including 69 cases of acute viroses, 72 cases of trauma, 25 childbirths, and 2 brain strokes.
