A Chisinau woman and her granddaughter received various injuries after being hit by a motorcycle. The accident occurred on Thursday, February 21, at about 12 PM, on Burebista Street. Ion Roscovanu, Road Safety Inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police, told Info-Prim Neo, that the Honda motorcycle was driven by a 26-year-old man. The woman, 56, suffered head trauma and brain concussion. Her 4-year old granddaughter received soft tissue injuries of the left shank. The same day at around 8 AM, a young man, 25, was struck by a Dacia-Logan vehicle in the intersection of the streets Bucuresti and Banulescu Bodoni. The pedestrian suffered left leg soft tissue injuries. A woman aged 55 got a head trauma after she lost balance and fell in front of a trolleybus, whose driver reacted promptly and braked. The victim was admitted to hospital. At about 8:30 PM, a 30-year-old pedestrian was hit by a Mercedes-190 car when crossing Sarmizegetusa Street while drunk and without looking. On Thursday, traffic agents fined 354 drivers for not wearing seatbelts. 645 drivers were fined for various violations of the traffic regulations, 12 of whom may lose their driving licences for drunk-driving.
