An 80-year-old woman was killed when she was crushed under the wheels of a bus running on the Chisinau – Suri route. The accident happened at the Bus Terminal in Drochia in the evening of August 12.

Roman Nicorici, head of the Drochia Patrolling Inspectorate, has told IPN that the elderly woman was struck by the bus when the driver wanted to close the doors. He didn’t see that the woman was getting off. She fell under the wheels and died on the spot.

An investigation is under way.
