A 54-year-old woman died after the car in which she was travelling as a passenger was hit by another car. The impact allegedly occurred after the driver of the second car, performing a maneuver to turn back, did not make sure it was safe to do so, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate said that the road accident occurred on Friday in Băcioi commune of the municipality of Chisinau. On the spot, the police established that a 60-year-old man, when turning his vehicle back, crashed the car into another car driven by a 43-year-old man. Both he and his 54-year-old passenger were rushed to the hospital to be offered medical care. Shortly afterward, the woman passed away.

A criminal case was started to establish all the circumstances of the accident.
