A 32-year-old woman from Edineț district died from COVID-19. She was admitted to the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” and suffered also from cardiopathy, hypertension and encephalopathy, IPN reports.
Even if the Ministry of Health for January 5 reported fewer deaths associated with SARS-CoV-2 – nine compared with 16 on January 3 - the number of new cases of COVID-19 has grown. As many as 706 new cases of infection were recorded on January 5, as opposed to 242 new cases on January 3.
Of all the cases of infection confirmed on January 5, 104 were logged in the Transnistrian region, while 43 were imported into Moldova from Ukraine, Italy, France, Ireland, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, Austria, Egypt, the U.S. Another 43 cases were detected among health workers.
Of the 745 persons confirmed with COVID-19 who are now in hospitals, 108 are in a very serious state and 17 of them were put on a ventilator.
Moldova so far has got over 378,000 cases of COVID-19.
