The 20th Winter Charity Bazaar staged by the International Women’s Club of Moldova (IWCM) reached a record level of visitors and donations. The event attracted over 4,000 visitors, while proceeds came to almost US$35,000, IPN reports.
The proceeds will go to the Chisinau-based Center “SOS Autism”, the Association “Neoumanist”, the Day Care Center “Rasarit” of Straseni, the Women’s Law Center of Chisinau and the Association “Emilita Lux” of Hancesti.
The fair involved 26 embassies and international organizations and ten charity NGOs and associations. Each of these presented the cultural and culinary particularities of the countries they represent. Local craftsmen exhibited their works. “The visitors of the fair could taste traditional dishes of the participating states and buy unique presents, contributing thus to a noble cause. They also enjoyed an artistic and recreational program,” says a press release of the IMCM.
Among the prizes of the Christmas raffle were four plane round-trip tickets to Istanbul, three certificates to a fitness club for families, four certificates for services to the value of 5,000 lei at a private clinic in Chisinau, a spa package and accommodation at a hotel.
